The Guadalupe Mural Project Finally Goes Home

The Guadalupe Mural Project consists of four murals done on wooden panels. Each panel is 8’ by 7’ 2” and is4 ¾” thick, and each panel weighs approximately 300lbs. These panels were recently restored due to inadequate building and installation of the panels on site. An earthquake cracked the panels and restoration involved removing bondo and sealing the gap between the two 4’ x 8’ panels. The painted surface had to then be pulled apart and repaired. Previous transportation of the pieces also damaged the edges of the painted panels which had to be fixed.
