Beyond the Mexican Mural: Class of Fall 2014

Utilizing the UCLA/SPARC César Chávez Digital Mural Lab, Judy and these Beyond the Mexican Mural students are exploring muralism as a political act of community education, development and empowerment. Beginning with the work of Los Tres Grandes of Mexico, a public art born out of revolution and created for the masses, these students are addressing the influence of the Mexican Masters on contemporary muralism and graffiti art in the United States while expressing their collaborative voice through the creation of an original mural reflecting on the multiethnic diversity of Los Angeles with the latest computer technology.
