On Thursday, September 4, 2008, Judy Baca and SPARC members attended a very special dedication at San Jose State University. The event corresponded with Judy and SPARC's Cesar Chavez Digital Mural Lab's latest artistic accomplishment: The Cesar E. Chavez Monument. In attendance were members of Chavez's family, Dolores Huerta, members of the UFW, as well as various San Jose city and university dignitaries.

A Chavez family spokesperson stated that Judy's commissioned memorial monument was the largest and most impressive commemoration of Chavez to date.
